Writer, Contemporary Asia to The World: Three Asian Countries in Superdesign Show 2018, Milan, fair review for The Artling, Singapore, 2018

From 17 to 22 April 2018, three Asian countries—Indonesia, Kuwait, and Japan— were honoured to present curated works at the Superdesign Show 2018, Milan. The event showcased contemporary designs from these nations, highlighting their unique contributions to the global design landscape. Indonesian designers presented works that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, reflecting the country's rich cultural heritage and contemporary creativity. The Superdesign Show 2018 provided a platform for these countries to display their design innovations, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and expanding the global appreciation of Asian contemporary design.

“For Milan, adapting to ICAD’s theme for this year, “Kisah” (Tale) director Diana Nazir adopted the title Java Blues, aiming to deliver tales depicted in Javanese culture through their respected colour. Designers, artists and brands Harry Purwanto, ICK, Kenzo, Ucup Baik, Tulola, Jenggala and SURU are part of the show.”
