Participant, Curating workshop with Bas Vroege, Jakarta International Photography Festival, Jakarta, Indonesia

Organiser: Jakarta International Photography Festival (JIPFest) Supported by Erasmus Huis

Venue: Kala di Kalijaga, Jakarta, Indonesia
Date: 11-13 Sept 2023

As the world moves from using prints as the primary way of showcasing photography, the practice of photography exhibition evolves as well. Led by the curator-lecturer Bas Vroege, the Curating, Producing, and Designing Photography Exhibitions Today with Bas Vroege workshop explores different forms of photography-based storytelling for fundamentally different exhibition environments. Participants were invited to think strategically as curators and experiment with their ideas on how to respond to the demands of the space, ways to challenge the audience and create curiosity, and how to integrate internet-based materials while incorporating physical artifacts and sounds to effectively create an intentional experience for the audience.
