For their twelfth annual edition, Years of Culture presented the Qatar-Indonesia 2023, bringing to life an inspiring programme of cultural events celebrating the arts, fashion and design, sport, gastronomy, education, and more. With over 50 programmes across Qatar and Indonesia, the 2023 Year of Culture serves as an important milestone between the two countries–a platform for a productive dialogue on culture and the creative economy. Qatar-Indonesia 2023 allowed for the formation of enduring friendships, creative collaborations, and cooperative ties as we look ahead to a truly bright future.
As part of the Program Curator Team from ICAD, Amanda collaborates with other team members in curating the programmes for events held in Indonesia and coming up with creative concepts based on the chosen overarching pillars of Years of Culture. Her role involved conducting extensive research about the intersecting culture between Arab and Indonesian traditions to create a meaningful and cohesive narrative that highlights both Arabic and Indonesian culture.
